Obituary for Eileen B Hillerman

Eileen B. Hillerman of Washington, MO passed away Sunday, January 06, 2019 at the age of 78 years.

She was born January 26, 1940 to Joseph Schlitt and wife, Lidwina (Brinker) Schlitt in Krakow, MO. She received her education at St. Francis Borgia Grade School and St. Francis Borgia Regional High School. Eileen was united in holy matrimony to Bernard A. Hillerman on October 11, 1958 in Krakow, MO and the couple made their home in Krakow, later moving to Washington in 2004. The marriage was blessed with two daughters.

Eileen enjoyed a career working at JCPenney for over 20 years and then for the Washington School District for 15 years. She was a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Krakow where she was active with the Ladies Sodality, quilters, and prayer chain. Eileen was also active in her community as a 4H Leader, she played water volleyball and pickleball at the YMCA, participated in the Silver Games playing pinochle, and cooked for the Lions Club weekly meetings for many years. She enjoyed a variety of interests including crocheting, traveling with family and taking bus trips to meet friends. Eileen loved every opportunity she had to spend time with her family and cherished the time she had with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bernard Hillerman of Washington, MO; two daughters: Judy Searcy and husband Fred, and Debbie Schroeder and husband Paul both of Washington, MO; six grandchildren: Dustin Searcy (Rebecca), Dr. Garrett Searcy (Jill), Alec Searcy, Andrea Klein (Ryan), Hannah Byrne (Austin), and Austin Schroeder; five great-grandchildren: Julia, Payton, Emmitt, Clark, and Pearl; four sisters: Marcie Frankenberg, Marilyn Boehm, Rita Wilson and husband Chuck all of Washington, MO, and Dottie Baker and husband Chuck of Brookfield, WI; one brother, Ken Schlitt and wife Pat of Union, MO; two sisters-in-law: Irene Hillerman of Washington, MO and JoAnn Hillerman of Columbia, MO; one brother-in-law, Ray Hillerman and wife Jonell of Washington, MO; other relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, January 09, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Krakow, MO with Rev. Phil Krill officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Hillerman to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the St. Gertrude Endowment Fund.

The Hillerman family was served by the Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO.
